John Cox, PCAM®, AMS® - Associa Regional Vice President
John Cox has worked in community association management since 1983. In 2006, Mr. Cox was promoted to Vice President of Associa’s Colorado region, overseeing the growth and expansion of Associa member companies along the Front Range. He previously worked at Kramer-Triad Management Group as the Vice-President of the Farmington Hills, MI office. Mr. Cox holds both the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®) and Association Management Specialist (AMS®) designations and received his BBA from Western Michigan University. He enjoys hunting, fishing and camping in his spare time.
Dee Tyler, PCAM®, CMCA® - Chief Executive Officer
Dee has been in community management for 23 years. During that time she has been involved with teaching for CAI – Rocky Mountain Chapter. Dee has also served as the Rocky Mountain Chapter President as well as serving on and chairing various committees. She is currently chairing a joint chapter committee (Southern Colorado and Rocky Mountain) of CAI to investigate manager licensing. Dee was named CEO of Colorado Association Services in 2006.
Jim Cowell, PCAM®, CMCA® - President
Jim has been in the Association Management field since 1982 and has managed twenty-six story high-rises, town home, condominium and single-family communities during this time. Jim served as a National Facilitator for CAI for six years and served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Colorado Chapter of CAI as President in 2006 and 2007. Jim also served as a Vice President of an Associa Management firm in Fairfax, Virginia before moving to Colorado in 2003 and Jim was named the CEO of Management Advantage an Associa Management Company in Colorado Springs in 2006. In July 2008, Management Advantage changed names to Colorado Association Services, and at the same time, Jim became President of all of the Colorado Association Services offices.
Dana Pepper, PCAM®, CMCA® - Vice President
Dana is a professional community manager and has been in community association management since 1990. She has been with our firm for 16 years. Education of Board members and owners is especially important to Dana. She has been actively involved in teaching CAI classes for the past 17 years. She is in charge of education for Managers, Board Members, and Homeowners for CAS. During her career, three communities under her management have been awarded the CAI – Rocky Mountain Chapter Association of the Year. Dana is a Denver native, has two grown children, and two grandchildren.
Heather Kerwin, CMCA®, AMS® - Vice President
Heather is primarily responsible for all operation aspects of Colorado Association Services Fort Collins branch, including both the Homeowners Association and Rental Property Management division. Mrs. Kerwin is a graduate from Colorado State University and has been working in various fields of management since 1990. She began working in Association Management in 2000 and has earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations and Association Management Specialists. Her hobbies include fly-fishing, rock climbing, scuba diving, and playing cards.
Greg Smith, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM® - Vice President
Greg joined Colorado Association Services in April 2010 after moving from Southern California, where he managed associations for seven years. He graduated from The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, CA in 2000 and has obtained his CMCA, AMS, and PCAM designations offered by the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Greg is happy to be living in Colorado Springs and to be part of the Associa family.
